Hi, I hope your summer is off to a great start,
I felt a lot of joy writing this newsletter. My life has been busy and I am grateful to have a lot to share! Before we get into all of that, let’s talk about what’s going on in the financial world…
Financial News
529a (Trump) Accounts exist now. If you have recently had a child or will be having one within the next few years, these accounts will be funded with a $1,000 government contribution. You can open one here. As a note, these accounts cannot be advisor-managed for now, you will have to custody with Robinhood and invest in the pre-chosen investment strategy(ies) available. The only option is currently only an S&P500 fund. There is a promise that other custodians will be available for transfers in 2027.
Inflation is the other big story. The war in Iran has caused inflation in almost every item category, due to the rising cost of transportation (oil.) Keep in mind that while inflation spikes are often temporary, the cost of goods rarely returns to pre-inflation pricing. This inflation has led to slight raise in interest rates, which has counterintuitively caused housing prices to slightly drop. In my area, at least, this has created a bit of a buyer’s market in the housing space.
Honeymoon
Mariah and I returned from our honeymoon in early June. It was absolutely amazing! After my last newsletter I got plenty of asks for pictures and I wanted to share some of my favorites:

If you are ever interested in visiting Greece, I have a lot of (very positive) thoughts about our experiences that I’d be happy to share. Athens, Mykonos, and Chania are amazing places to visit!
Upcoming Book
Informed Investing is now available for pre-order as an eBook, the full book soon to come. I decided to delay the release to August 28th to coincide with the firm’s 8th anniversary and give me a little more time to market. I’d appreciate reviews if you decide to pick up a copy for yourself! The book is a deeper dive on a lot of the investing conversations that I have with clients. Here is the cover image if you’re interested:

What We’ve Been Playing
My friends and I have been deep into Twilight Imperium, specifically playing on Discord via the “Async” community. It’s been a fun way to have a shared activity between in-person games. I also recently played Ankh and Bonsai. Ankh draws on Egyptian Mythology in a way that I find very fun. Bonsai is a simpler, but still very enjoyable game about creating a beautiful bonsai tree.
If you’re looking for something with no board game roots, I have been enjoying the latest Palworld update when I get online. The game has come a long way since its controversial early launch.
